About DeGeorge Custom Frames

We are proud to be involved in Lakeland’s vibrant art community.  Between working with local artists and galleries, including the Polk Museum of Art, our days are far from dull.  Julie is currently a member of the American Business Women’s Association. We are both active members of All Saints’ Episcopal Church – we sing in the choir and play hand bells. Vince serves on the Board of Directors of the Imperial Symphony Orchestra in Lakeland.  We are continuously amazed by the variety of activities available and the warmth of the people in our “adopted” hometown.

We custom frame what ever our clients can imagine – sports memorabilia, family documents, musical instruments, parachutes, perfume bottles and military medals, to name just a few.  We assist in making perfect selections that enhance the art and coordinate with any type of décor.  At DeGeorge Custom Frames, only conservation materials that will neither fade nor harm the art are used.  Custom framed mirrors are a specialty.

Our approach is to guide you to the perfect combination of matting, moulding and size making the finished product unique and beautiful.

We are conveniently located at 1837 E. Edgewood Dr. in Lakeland with hundreds of choices available to make your framing truly custom to your home and personality.  Our showroom is open Monday thru Friday from 10am until 6pm, and Saturdays 10am until 2pm.  After Hours and In-Home/In-Office Visits are available by appointment.

We work with builders, designers and homeowners to ensure customer satisfaction.  All work is done in our facility, by us.  All work is guaranteed – always!

We will work with you to create a unique, high quality frame design that will be the focal point in your home or office.

Custom Framing Design

Our frames themselves are works of art.  Whether it be a mirror, a piece of art, or a photograph, our frames make the finished product especially elegant.

Customers are welcome to take samples home to get a feel for what would work best with their style and design.  We understand budgetary considerations and work within them.

Custom Framed Mirrors

Before and After

Custom framed mirrors are a specialty. We work with custom home builders on a regular basis designing mirror treatments for new homes and remodels.

“DeGeorge Custom Frames has added a tremendous amount of value to our product.”

The Girl on the Edge of the Wishing Pond

Betsy Bohrer is an outstanding local artist we’ve known for 15 years.  Her art is colored by her life experiences.  She uses soft pastels and oils on canvas and paper as her chosen medium.

I preserve my life experiences as free-verse poetry, captured moments, observations, and the occasional whimsical doodle in my journals. These meditations transform and evolve through layers of color, texture, and insomnia into tangible visual images. I convey these images through oil and pastel on hand textured paper, board, and canvas, ultimately illustrating and defining my life story.

One of the most engaging artists, Donald Stone, shares his wealth of insights about folk art in Florida and the significance of symbols in his own pieces. Stone’s pieces include orange groves in bright lines and sea worthy ships with historically relevant details “sprinkled” throughout the pictures.

Preservation Framing

Conservators have found that a great deal of the damage to works of art that they encounter could have been reduced or prevented by proper framing methods.

Through the use of matting materials which meet the standards set by the Library of Congress for the preservation of works of art and documents on paper, mounting techniques that are easily reversible and special glazing materials, we can greatly reduce the risks faced by works of art which are displayed.

Our Credientials

Vincent is a Board Certified Picture Framer with over 30 years experience.  Vincent has been awarded the CERTIFIED PICTURE FRAMER® designation by the Certification Board of the Professional Picture Framers Association.  He is an Accredited Picture Framing Judge, adjudicating at two international picture framing competitions in Las Vegas, NV.

We have belonged to the Professional Picture Framers Association since 1998.  Both of us have served as officers on the state level.  Vince is a former National Board Member. We both are educators, having taught classes at PPFA conferences and conventions.  Continuing education is a constant at DeGeorge Custom Frames.  Our industry involvement keeps us on the “cutting edge”.  We pride ourselves on designing new ways of framing traditional pieces and framing things that no one else does, like TV’s,   hockey pucks and even a bowling ball.
